We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator – Summer Student!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Summer Student position as a Social Media Coordinator. This position will preferably be in Toronto in a hybrid work from home and our head office. Candidates preferring to work from home full time located anywhere in Canada will be considered.

 

What will you do?

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Digital and Delivery, you will focus on the implementation of CFIB’s social media strategy in collaboration with the other team members to increase online presence and improve the marketing and sales efforts of the organization. The Social Media Coordinator will also participate in activities to increase the digital footprint of CFIB in appropriate social channels while embracing channel diversity. The role will utilize social media ads, understand SEO, and maintain a strong awareness of trends and best practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the social strategy across all relevant social channels to create a robust social media presence for CFIB
  • Support social media KPIs and understand web traffic and metrics associated with web and social channels
  • Create social media content for postings by embracing a creative approach with content creation
  • Develop inspiring and engaging stories, videos, photos, blogs, to drive awareness and affinity to CFIB
  • Maintain a strong aesthetic for all social channels and explore social media trends
  • Remain flexible while testing new concepts and approaches
  • Use social media ads to enhance performance and reach
  • Continual improvement and review of content to ensure it is appealing and informative for our audience
  • Collaborate with Marketing, IT, and Digital teams
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Report on social media efforts and performance
  • Maintain a social media calendar to track and highlight content, campaigns, and seasonal themes
  • Identify opportunities and escalate issues as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

What makes a successful Social Media Coordinator?

  • Experience with various analytics tools, platforms and software including, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, Facebook insights, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, and other social media channels and best practices
  • Experience with analytics including social media planning, and managing content
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in French would be an asset but is not required
  • Quick thinking, resourceful, ability to balance multiple deadlines/priorities
  • Work well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented team environment
  • Completed or working towards post-secondary education in Marketing or Digital Marketing related studies
  • 2 years of prior experience in a digital marketing role would be an asset.
